FILL OUT A 4473 + COMPLETE A BACKGROUND CHECK = TAKE IT HOME!
On October 9, 2026 the ATF issued an open letter to Federal Firearm Licensees (FFLs) regarding certain provisions of the National Firearms Act (NFA). This open letter confirmed that the ATF will no longer require individuals to seek ATF approval under the NFA before making or transferring certain firearms.
What this means for Arnzen Arms
- We will no longer require a Form 4 to be submitted to the ATF for review and approval before transfer of suppressors or short-barreled rifles (SBRs). These firearms can be transferred after the completion of the standard 4473 process which requires a completed NICS background check.
- Transfers to other dealers still require Arnzen Arms to submit a Form 3 and wait for approval. We can only ship suppressors and SBR's to SOT dealers.
- Arnzen Arms will continue to offer the Form 4 submission service, including passport style photos, fingerprinting, and e-form submission for those that still wish to utilize it, or need to for other NFA items (machine guns, destructive devices, etc).
- Transfers of suppressors and SBR's from other dealers to Arnzen Arms will be done at the standard firearms transfer fee ($50) unless it is part of a voluntary (or required for other NFA items) Form 4, which would be done at the higher fee transfer rate.
NOTE: The changes announced in this open letter from the ATF do not affect state or local laws that govern NFA items or the rules around transportation. Individuals should exercise caution before transporting unregistered items.
