In recent years, collectors have realized that military specimens in quality original condition are very rare.
The Eagle Logo and U.S. Springfield on the lock plate is bold. The case coloring on the inside and outside of the breech is present. The letter “A” is on the top of the barrel and U.S. Model 1884 is stamped on the top of the breech plate. The bore is in great condition, the lands and grooves are prominent. The rear sight appears to have never been moved. The Barrel Bands are stamped with “U”. The Butt Plate is stamped “US”. The Stock has the “68” and “P” markings behind the trigger guard. No cracks in the stock. The stock for its vintage is in great condition. This rifle is “Ram Rod Style” and there were only approximately 67,000 manufactured.
