50 Round Review, Sig Sauer SP2022
Welcome to Arnzen Arms 50 Round Reviews. What can you expect in the first 50 rounds with the Sig Sauer SP2022.
At first glance the SP2022 is very clearly a Sig and a classic one at that. It isn’t until you pick it up you realize it’s a very rare bird indeed – a Double Action / Single Action Polymer Frame Pistol with decocking controls and Siglite Night Sights. So, how does it shoot?
The gun grouped okay at 10 yards. It was clear both shooters were not expecting the classic Sig point of aim – point of impact sight presentation and the chunky Siglite sights. The 2022 has a 10lb Double Action and 4.5lb Single which takes some getting used to. Our shooters struggled to put good hits on paper under recoil which is more about us than the gun. With a little practice, and to be fair, more than 50 rounds we were able to get acceptable performance.
The Sig SP2022 is a price point gun at $679 MSRP which might be a touch high when compared to other polymer framed guns but it handles less like a Glock or Sigs P302 and more like a Sig Sauer P229 with an MSRP of $979. If your budget doesn’t allow for a steel frame gun and you can’t get on board with striker fire pistols the Sig Sauer SP2022 Hammer Fired DA/SA Handgun is absolutely worth a look.
