50 Round Review, Wilson Combat SFX9 3.25" DS 1911 Style Pistol
The Wilson Combat SFX9 3.25 inch is a compact, high-performance handgun for concealed carry and personal defense. It is a variation of the popular Wilson Combat X-TAC model but, with a shorter barrel and grip that makes it easier to carry and conceal.
The SFX9's frame is designed for maximum comfort and control. It features a high-cut frontstrap and an ergonomic grip that fits but, is a little short for the pinky. The grip is finished with a Wilson Combat Starburst that provides a secure, non-slip grip even in wet or sweaty conditions. The slide features front and rear serrations for a positive grip, as well as Wilson Combat's Battlesight rear sight and fiber optic front sight for quick and accurate target acquisition.
In terms of performance, the SFX9 is a top-performing handgun. It is built to the same exacting standards as all Wilson Combat firearms and features a crisp, clean trigger that breaks at around 4 pounds. While the pistol isn’t designed to be precision shooter the SFX9 grouped well at 7 yards. The real trick to these sub 4” 1911s is getting the timing right. Under recoil the gun performed great delivering consistent A-Box groups in pairs and Bill Drills.
With a base price of $2955, the Wilson Combat SFX9 3.25 inch is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a compact, high-performance handgun for concealed carry or personal defense. It combines Wilson Combat's legendary craftsmanship and attention to detail with a compact and lightweight design that is easy to carry and conceal.
